Job Opening: Software Engineer (Java & C++)

VoiceGain, a Speech Recognition / Artificial Intelligence startup located in Dallas, TX. We are now in a Private Beta phase -- opening our new Cloud/OnPrem Speech Recognition & IVR Platform to customers. You can learn more about VoiceGain and our platform at www.voicegain.ai

Who we are looking for

A smart Software Engineer with Java and C++ experience.

What would you work on

You would be a key person responsible for our code that handles e.g.:

a) audio streaming (standard and proprietary protocols)

b) audio processing and conversion (this includes some neural network processing)

c) TCP and UDP servers and clients

d) adding features to our event bus implementation

e) messaging (NATS, Websocket, etc)

f) task queuing and scheduling

This is just a partial list. Overall your responsibility would be for the back-end processes which are algorithm heavy. Your work would involve probably:

70% Java

20% C/C++

10% Python

We can promise that the work will very interesting and challenging, with ample possibility to learn.

What we require

Master's in Computer Science or equivalent

Solid knowledge of Computer Science concepts

Experience level equivalent to mid-level SE

Ability to operate on their own to solve targeted technical problems.

Ability to work well in a small team

Solid knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.

Not strictly required, but good to have

Experience with Netty.io

Experience with Redis, MongoDB, Firestore, Firebase, and/or S3/Object Storage

Experience with Spring Framework and Spring Controller

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes

Familiarity with SIP/VOIP

Familiarity with IVR

Familiarity with Deep Neural Network concepts and tools.

Signal processing knowledge (e.g. understanding Fourier Transforms)
